"Respecting Differences: Intersections of Identity & Diversity in an Academic Healthcare Setting"
Tanenbaum Center for Interreligious Understanding

In a professional field that is becoming increasingly culturally and religiously diverse, faculty members must be aware of how to engage with colleagues, staff, students and patients from a variety of backgrounds. To that end, this workshop guides participants in examining and understanding the impact of social identities - cultural, religious and socio-economic - and introduces tool sets that can be used to effectively and respectfully interact with colleagues, staff, students and patients of diverse backgrounds. Topics will include social identity, unconscious bias, health disparities, and respectful communication in diverse workplaces.
