CDM Operations Update

Updated March 7, 2018 at 1:20 p.m.

Updates for Columbia Dental Operations are below. For full medical center operations updates, visit the CUIMC Operations page.

With the snowfall increasing in intensity and accumulation, CDM has made the following decisions:

  • Any CDM classes that begin at 4:00 or later today will be cancelled
  • Non-essential personnel can be released beginning at 4:00 p.m., consistent with operational needs
  • Teaching clinics should continue and complete their afternoon schedule. Clinic faculty, students and staff should check in with each other to ensure appropriate completion of operations and patient services prior to departure for the day.
  • Faculty practices should make their decisions on closing based on operational and patient services needs
  •  Evening clinics will be cancelled.  Clinic staff has already started contacting patients to reschedule.
  • Again, please check with your supervisor or appropriate administrator if you have any questions.

Before leaving:

Make sure all windows are closed securely. This single step may be the most important way that you can protect your work area or residence from potentially-damaging high winds.

Leave all radiator valves and fans coils on to ensure adequate heating and to avoid damage from freezing. Fan coils should be set to the slowest speed setting.

Clear clothing or furniture away from heaters to avoid fires or inadequate heating that may cause freeze-ups and damage.

We anticipate normal operations and class schedules tomorrow, Thursday, March 8.  Continue to monitor the Columbia homepage, as well as the Preparedness and Medical Center Operations sites.   Thank you for your attention to these announcements. Please stay safe and exercise caution when traveling.
