Implant Supported Provisionalization in the Aesthetic Zone — CDM Preclinical Lab, 8th Floor, Vanderbilt Clinic
Seung Jun Song, DMD
Assistant Professor of Dental Medicine (Prosthodontics) at CUIMC
Director, Predoctoral Prosthodontics
Dental implant prosthesis has been an integral aspect of contemporary dentistry. Particularly, there has been an increased demand in immediacy both surgically and restoratively. Chairside provisionalization maintains natural soft tissue architectural integrity and provides confidence for the patient throughout a difficult transition period. During this hands-on session, participants will have an opportunity to use 3D printed models, similar those currently in use for CDM implant prosthodontics education.
Upon completion of the simulated chair-side workflow of implant supported provisionalization, participants will understand the following:
- Pros and Cons of different luting materials (PMMA vs composite resin)
- Adequate emergence profile for implant supported prostheses
- The importance of critical and subcritical zone
