Winter Weather Advisory

All Columbia University Irving Medical Center classes are canceled for tomorrow, March 21, in light of updated forecasts predicting snowfall rates of 1 to 3 inches per hour starting as early as the morning commute and total snow accumulation of 12 to 15 inches.

Essential personnel are expected to report to work tomorrow as directed by their supervisors, consistent with University Policy. Non-essential personnel who are able to travel safely to work are encouraged to do so, or should speak with a manager or supervisor about contingency plans if needed. If you have a question about your “essential status,” please check in with your supervisor.

ColumbiaDoctors clinical practices—including the dental faculty practices-- are scheduled to be open tomorrow, Mar. 21, though some practices will be closing early. We suggest patients call their health care provider's office to confirm appointments as the storm progresses.

The CDM teaching clinics will essentially be closed. Triage was already cancelled due to insufficient coverage. We will only see Emergency patients if there is coverage. There are no DDS classes tomorrow. PG and DDS programs will only be covered if there's sufficient faculty coverage for patients who show up at the clinic. We will place a notice on the CDM home page announcing the clinic closures.

Please communicate with your supervisor or faculty leader about the day.

This page will be updated as the storm progresses.
