Professional Licensure and Certification Disclosure

Institutions providing distance education are required to provide certain general disclosures for educational programs, regardless of modality, that prepare students for professional licensure. The required information relates to whether the educational program meets the requirements for professional licensure in all other states. With the July 1, 2024 federal regulation change, there are no longer allowances for "cannot determine" and/or "has not determined."

Professional licensure and certification requirements may vary state to state. Although the Columbia University College of Dental Medicine has attempted to provide accurate and timely information by state, this information is subject to change.

DDS Program

The College of Dental Medicine's DDS Program is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation. This program meets the licensing requirements for U.S. states as indicated in the linked PDF. Details regarding the minimum qualifications to seek licensure in each state are provided on the websites listed in the PDF. As requirements may change, the student affairs office regularly reviews state specific information to determine any other requirements for licensure (e.g., additional post-graduation examinations, application and licensing fees, criminal background checks, etc.).
